Father-Son Bonding at Camp Ondessonk: A Weekend in the Wilderness

This year, from April 26 to April 28, 2024, Camp Ondessonk welcomed more than 240 attendees to its Father-Son Weekend, a special occasion reserved for the guys to bond, explore, and create lasting memories. With its rich history of providing transformative outdoor experiences, Camp Ondessonk set the stage for a weekend filled with adventure, camaraderie, and the simple joys of nature.
At Camp Ondessonk, the Father-Son Weekend is more than just a getaway – it’s an opportunity for fathers and sons to connect on a deeper level while engaging in a variety of outdoor activities. From tromping through the woods to spending evenings gathered around the campfire, the weekend offered a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation for families seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
One of the weekend’s highlights was the chance to partake in a myriad of Camp activities, each designed to foster teamwork, skill-building, and, most importantly, fun. Attendees could test their aim with Archery, challenge themselves on the Gaga Court, and navigate the tranquil waters through Canoeing and Kayaking adventures. For those seeking an extra dose of adrenaline, adventure activities such as the Challenge Course and horseback trail rides provided an exhilarating experience amidst the natural beauty of the Shawnee National Forest.
