Welcome Connie Stellhorn: A New Voice on the Board of Directors
We are pleased to introduce Connie Stellhorn as the newest addition to the Camp Ondessonk Board of Directors. Connie brings with her a wealth of experience, a deep-rooted commitment to her faith, and a profound passion for the mission of Camp Ondessonk.
Connie’s journey with Ondessonk began in her youth, where she first experienced the transformative power of Camp’s environment. Born and raised on a farm between Red Bud and Hecker, Ill., Connie learned invaluable skills from being the oldest of five siblings, including multitasking and shouldering responsibilities. Her parents’ strong faith and her active involvement in her family parish, St. Augustine of Canterbury, instilled in her a deep appreciation for Catholic values and community.
After her life-changing experience at Camp Ondessonk, Connie continued to be involved, transitioning from camper to counselor and eventually becoming a dedicated volunteer and donor. Her enduring connection with Camp spans over five decades, during which she has witnessed firsthand the positive impact a Camp experience has on the lives of countless young people.
In addition to her rich history with Camp Ondessonk, Connie brings a diverse background in business administration, real estate, and hospitality to the Board. As the Managing Broker/Owner of Stellhorn Realty, Inc., an Associate Broker at St. Croix Island Life, VI, and owner of a successful bed and breakfast, Connie has perfected her leadership, collaboration, and strategic decision-making skills.
Connie’s unwavering commitment to serving others and her deep understanding of organizational dynamics make her a valuable addition to the Board of Directors. Her vision for Camp Ondessonk aligns perfectly with Camp’s mission of providing a safe and enriching environment where youth can grow in their Catholic faith amidst the beauty of God’s creation.
