The Impact of Monthly Gifts

Camp ONdessonk The impact of monthly giving (800 x 600 px)

Each month, members of the Campfire Circle receive an update from Executive Director and fellow Campfire Circle member, Dan King, to share how their support made a difference for Camp within the past month.

Like the Operations Update, the message gives the group a special look at things that are happening at Camp Ondessonk. These contributions provide Camp stability and ensure resources will be there when they are needed most.

In the last year, Campfire Circle members have helped Camp:

  • add central air conditioning and heating to the Trading Post;
  • send staff to the ACA St. Louis Spring Gathering for a day of education, inspiration, and fellowship;
  • manage the rising costs associated with printing and mailing the 2022 yearbook to campers, donors, and summer volunteers;
  • fund a groundskeeping position to help keep Camp beautiful and care for the natural landscape;
  • purchase commercial folding tables and stackable chairs for Camp’s Dining Hall and St. Noel;
  • help with unexpected vehicle repairs;
  • add ceiling fans in Fournie Mini-Camp Village cabins;
  • care for Camp’s horses and purchase two horses that are wonderful additions to Camp’s herd;
  • replace Lalemant’s moss-covered cabin roofs with metal roofing;
  • pay membership dues and subscriptions for American Camping Association, Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) dues, our Sam’s Club membership, our Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license, and our subscription to The Diocese of Belleville’s publication, The Messenger, among others;
  • shop on Black Friday to purchase new staff computers; and
  • cover routine expenses like our water and electric bills as well as waste hauling expenses.

You can become a Campfire Circle member by visiting  DonorBox or Camp’s giving page and committing to giving as little as $5 per month. Your monthly support will help make a big difference all year long!
