PRESS RELEASE
Camp Ondessonk Event:  “Practical Ideas to Care for Earth.”

Camp Ondessonk, an Illinois Not for Profit 501(c)(3) Youth Camp located in Ozark, Illinois, celebrates the Canonization of Kateri Tekakwitha, patron saint of environmentalist, by hosting a dinner/speaker event October 18, 2012 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville IL.

The event will feature a presentation by key note speaker Author Kyle Kramer, a Catholic Climate Covenant Ambassador, titled “Practical Ideas To Be A Good Steward of the Earth.”  Kyle Kramer’s book ” A Time to Plant:  Life Lessons in Work, Prayer and Dirt” presents the honest, humorous, and hope-infused story of his journey of coming to know God and himself. For Kramer, this came by rejecting a consumerist approach to life, starting an organic farm, and raising a family in rural Southern Indiana.

To register for the event contact Linda Dennis at 618-235-9601 ext. 1052 or ldennis@diobelle.org.  Cost is $16.80 per person with dinner included. A table of eight can be purchased for $120.00.  A portion of the proceeds to benefit the Camp Ondessonk Campership Fund.  The fund provides families with financial hardship an opportunity to  receive assistance for all or part of their child’s summer camp tuition.
