Camp Ondessonk Teen Ministry Programs Receive CSMA Grant
On Wednesday, October 18, Camp Ondessonk received funding through the Diocese of Belleville’s Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal (CSMA) Fund for Ministry to support ministry programs for teens. The CSMA Fund for Ministry gives Catholic parishes, schools, groups, and organizations an opportunity to receive funds for unique programs and projects that address special needs in the Belleville Diocese.
Each of the three ministry programs have unique learning outcomes so teens can take part in one program or all three during the course of the 2023-2024 Education & Recreation Season at Camp Ondessonk.
The first of the programs is called Living In Faith Together, or L.I.F.T. This new program will provide opportunities for Catholic teens to discuss with their peers, topics centered around their faith during virtual meetings. L.I.F.T. members will take leadership roles in planning the Re-ignite U retreat that will take place in March 2024. Interested teens must complete an application and submit a recommendation by their pastor or youth minister.
Re-ignite U is a retreat designed to bring teens together to be inspired by and engaged in their faith. This special weekend gives participants the opportunity to engage with presenters of all ages to learn and grow in their Catholic faith.
Designed for confirmation candidates and an adult in their life, Camp’s Confirmation Retreat is a weekend to learn the role the saints play in their lives, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and how to continue as an adult in the Catholic Church. The Retreat offers joint sessions and split sessions for confirmation candidates and their adult so they can participate in discussions based on their roles in the confirmation process.
