Camp Ondessonk Outdoor Education

Camp Ondessonk Outdoor Education

The spring season is upon us and we at camp are preparing for a very busy Outdoor Education Season.  Our winter was spent visiting thousands of students, spreading the good word of camp.  We met some great people along the way and we are extremely grateful for the schools, religion programs, and organizations that invited us in for a few Heepwahs!  The past couple of months have had the outdoor education staff busy, not only with promotions but with programs, conferences, and training as well.  I think I speak for them all when I say that we are ready for campers!

Camp is excited to open its doors this spring to thousands of people before the summer even starts.  Ondessonk has become more than a summer destination and for many, it has become a year round home.  School groups, scouts, volunteers, families, and other specialty groups will fill our cabins for the next couple of months with the sounds of camp waking the Shawnee from its winter slumber.  We have many events planned that are open to the public as well including Road Scholar Programs, the Women in the Outdoors Program, as well as the inaugural spring fest and the always popular father/son camp.  If you or a group is interested, please give us a call and come see how beautiful camp is in the spring.- By Brian Croft
