Camp Ondessonk- Lodge Updates

Lodge Updates

This year, The Lodges of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha observed yet another very successful summer. With additions to the induction process, a spectacular Lodge Camp, the induction of many new outstanding campers, staff and volunteers, all in conjunction with the promise of a successful school year, the Lodges have a lot to be proud of. This summer, Lodge Camp observed changes to the program that largely enhanced the whole experience. Between extended trail-rides, participating in the high-ropes course experience, hikes to rarely visited locations, campfires at Phantom’s Canyon, an extended Ceremony performed by Lodge Campers, and surprise ice cream parties, Lodge Camp was as great as it has ever been.  Additionally, Lodge Tribes have been actively meeting to plan events in their own respective areas, with awesome ideas for fund raisers and other Tribe activities. Be sure that you are on the look-out for these events in your home town so that you can come out and support The Lodges and Camp Ondessonk. All of the Tribes appreciate the support, and would especially appreciate a greater active member base. Regardless if you are a Lodge member from four summers or four decades ago, please consider re-connecting with your own Tribe. A great place to start becoming involved is to join The Lodges of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha on Facebook for updates and information regarding events in your area. As Lodge turns 55 this year, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who have played their part, and to challenge those who will come forth to make the next 55 even better!

Tim Coffey – Chief of Lodge
