Welcome to our new Assistant Ranger!

Welcome to our new Assistant Ranger!

Cam Denbo

Ranger Scott Martin recently announced the hiring of Cameron Denbo as Camp Ondessonk’s new Assistant Ranger. The position became vacant when Scott was appointed Ranger.

Cameron (Cam) is from Eldorado, Ill., and lives in Harrisburg, Ill. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Illinois College.

Cam’s background in HVAC, industrial service areas, and apartment rehabbing was key in hiring him as Assistant Ranger. He has worked as an HVAC Service Technician for Cannan Heating & Cooling in Harrisburg; a Service Supervisor and Technician for The Water Works in Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked as a boom crane operator diagnosing complex electrical and plumbing problems; an Industrial Paint Booth HVAC Service Technician for John Baker Sales, LLC in Denver, Colo., maintaining, repairing, and replacing parts for industrial paint booth systems; and a Rehab Subcontractor with Jerry Hunt Rentals in Harrisburg.

Cam was an Ondessonk camper in 2007 and 2009, both years in the unit of Brébeuf. When asked why he wanted to work at Camp Ondessonk, he stated, “I’ve loved Camp since I was a kid and knew it was something great that I wanted to be a part of.” He went on to say that the best thing about working at Camp is, “the atmosphere, being in the Shawnee out in nature, with a constant influx of new problems to solve.”

Welcome, Cam, to the Ondessonk Family!
