Archives Room Open During Friends Weekend

After five long years of renovation, the Archives Room, located in the basement of St. Noel, was open to the public Saturday, August 30th during Friends Weekend. Guests of the weekend were able to peruse the displays and information that has been prepared to date.

Far from complete, the display cases hold many items from Campโ€™s history, including an entire case of Lodge of Ondessonk & Tekakwitha memorabilia, along with examples of the various Lodge Sashes.

Many unit t-shirts and other shirts from over the years hang on the walls with cedar plaques with decade references hanging under the various shirts to identify when the shirts were popular. Thanks to Jim Shively for carving the plaques to hang in the room.

In addition, pictures of every Camp Director and Executive Director are displayed; souvenir items from the Trading Post; many binders filled with pictures all the way back to 1959; binders with Frontier Trip information; Camp Souvenir and Yearbooks back to 1960; plus, more!

The room is not open every day, because more still needs to be filed and displayed. Hopefully in the near future, it will be accessible at all times.
