Javette Cox Meet Our StaffJavette Cox- Food Service Assistant

Hometown:  Pittsfield, Il.

Javette enjoys ensuring quality meals go out of Camp’s kitchen service window and being a role model for our summer staff and campers.  Outside of work, Javette is busy with her grandbaby. During her free time, she enjoys crochet projects that never seem to get finished, and in the summer, she spends as much time as she can on a raft in her family’s cove on Lake of Egypt.

Marsha Meet Our StaffMarsha Bockmann-  Landscaper / Gardener

Hometown: An Unincorporated area just south of Chicago

Marsha’s duties include, among others,   tending to camp’s landscaping needs.  She continues to add and improve planting beds, primarily using drought-resistant native plants of the region.  Outside of camp’s garden beds, Marsha continues her efforts to halt the spread of invasive species, which if left unchecked, can minimize or eliminate the presence of native plants throughout camp’s property.

Since 1984, Marsha has maintained employment positions that have allowed her to work outdoors. Marsha states, “I’m grateful for this opportunity, and I am so thankful for all the generous hands and hearts of the staff, volunteers, and campers!   I do not directly work with the campers, but I get a ‘charge’ out of overhearing their interactions and observing them and their concern for others. It gives me hope!”

When Marsha is not at Camp Ondessonk, she enjoys running, hiking, exploring and camping.
