Lucia’s Corner
In order to earn a nickname, the subject must be loved. Ondessonk volunteer Jim Shively has two, neither of which will be revealed here. Jim is a long-standing member of the Camp community. He began his association in 1959 as a camper the first week Camp was open and served as a staff member for 5 years. Military service, family, and work responsibilities took Jim’s attention for a time, but Ondessonk was never far from his mind. He returned to serve as a volunteer in 1990. Since then, he has attended bi-annual stable round-ups, been “on-call” for special projects, constructed amazing furniture for Gala auctions, and served as a summer maintenance volunteer. For the last several summers, Jim has given 6-7 weeks as a maintenance volunteer. Thanks, Jim, we can see through your service the place Ondessonk holds in your heart!
