Le Coeur Society – Fr. Brian Barker
Father Brian Barker, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Marion and St. Paul Church in Johnston City, has been a part of the Camp family for almost 40 years. Working as a teacher during the school year, he started working at Camp as a unit leader during the summer.
While on staff, his favorite days were Fridays, including the marathon, tug of war, and skits that culminated a great week. He fondly remembers times spent with fellow staff members and remains in contact with many friends he made during that time.
As a Founding Member of the Le Coeur Society, Fr. Brian will help ensure that future generations of campers will get to experience the joy of Fridays at Camp.
Fr. Brian shared, “I became a member of the Le Coeur Society because I believe in Camp’s mission. Any kind of material possession I’ve gained on earth, I can’t take with me to the next life. I might as well give it away, making sure that the resources I donate are given to worthy causes, especially for youth, to help them become the person God calls them to be, that they reach their potential.”
