Full Time Equestrian Coordinator
The Equestrian Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for assisting the Equestrian Director in the general management, operation and supervision of the stable program, personnel, horses, and facility. The Equestrian Coordinator will help train, maintain, and care for a large horse herd, stable, and pasture system. This person must have the leadership ability and experience to promote and help maintain a positive, efficient, and safe working atmosphere.
21 years of age
At least 2 years of equestrian experience, with a strong riding and horse care background
Ability to teach beginner-level riding lessons
CHA and First-Aid/CPR certifications, or ability to acquire these certifications upon hire
Bachelor’s degree in Equine or Animal Science, Pre-Vet or Stable Management
Experience working at a summer camp and/or in a youth riding program
COMPENSATION: This is a salaried, year-round position with paid vacation and sick days. Annual salary $20,000-$23,500 dependent on experience. Health insurance offered through the Diocese of Belleville. Shared on-site housing is available.

Fall 2018 Outdoor Education Program Staff
Camp Ondessonk currently has openings for:
Three (3) 3-month positions starting August 21st, 2018 and lasting until November 12th, 2018
Three (3) 9-month positions starting August 21st, 2018 and lasting until May 20th, 2019.
21 years of age
At least 2 years of college credit
Previous experience in a camp setting and basic knowledge of outdoor education
First Aid/CPR/AED certified or ability to become certified within 30 days of employment
High levels of personal integrity, emotional maturity, patience, adaptability, and self motivation, strong group facilitation
Energy, a good sense of humor, and a passion for the out-of-doors are a must
Bachelor’s degree in any field; but a degree in outdoor recreation, education, or related field is a plus
Knowledge of the experiential education process, environmental education, and challenge course facilitation
Strong group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a high degree of job flexibility
Wilderness First Aid or Responder, Lifeguard, American Canoe Association, Certified Interpretive Guide, archery, rock climbing, equestrian, or other certifications
COMPENSATION: $525-575 paid bi-weekly, meals provided during programs, shared on-site housing, pro-deals, access to thousands of acres of national forest.

Camp Ondessonk hosts interns in a variety of academic majors, but the Program Staff position is the perfect way to get some great experience and your foot in the door of a wonderful organization. Internships are based on the existing program staff positions and are paid the same rate as their fellow program staff. Interns who would like to design their own experience outside of the above contract dates are welcome to contact us as well, but those positions may have a short period of unpaid work. All other benefits like housing and meals will still be included. Summer Camp Staff
Interested applicants for summer camp counselor positions should check back here in November for a 2019 application and up-to-date staff information, including position descriptions and salaries. All new staff applicants will need to submit a resume and application. Applicants who did not work at Camp Ondessonk last summer will need to have 3 references. Most staff applications will be due in January, 2019.
