Employment

 

All Applicants for any position at camp (full-time or seasonal) who will be at least 18 years old during their time of employment will need to submit both authorizations for background checks as part of their application.  These forms must be printed and signed, then returned to camp.  Find the forms here:

These forms can be returned via the file uploader below, emailed to the hiring manager listed on the position description, or faxed to 618-695-3593.  Please be sure to include the position being applied for so we can look out for the remainder of your application.

Any summer applicants that did not work in 2019 – as well as all LIT applicants- must send in 3 completed reference forms.  These may be submitted directly through the uploader at the bottom of the Camp Ondessonk Employment Page on the website (preferred) or via email to Dru.Kee@Ondessonk.com.

CAMPING SERVICES DIRECTOR

Camp Ondessonk is hiring a Camping Services Director. The primary responsibility of the position is summer camp direction, which includes leading an administrative team in its efforts to recruit, hire, and train a summer staff of more than 120 people. Additional year-round duties include supervision of the Outdoor Education, Equestrian, and Food Service Directors, and shared leadership in weekend events like Family Camp. Exempt position requires weekend and evening work during summer camp and, less frequently, during the rest of the year.  Benefits include paid holidays, housing suitable for a small family, paid vacation, health insurance, and 403(b) retirement plan. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

Spring/Fall Internships: Camp Ondessonk hosts interns in a variety of academic majors.  The Program Staff position is the perfect way to get some great experience while contributing to a year-round camping and outdoor education program.  A typical internship mirrors the existing program staff positions, but with an additional project or focus as necessary.  Pay is $525-$575/bi-weekly, and housing and meals are included.  Contact Greg Santen at greg.santen@ondessonk.com to discuss the possibilities and see if there is something that might fit with your area of study and semester calendar. 

Summer Internships:  Need an Internship this summer?  No problem!  Do your internship at camp!  Experiences available for students focused in Healthcare, Social Work, Business Management, Recreation, Equine/Animal Science,  Hospitality and more.  Internships that fill existing positions are paid, custom internships designed for individuals will be unpaid, but with room/board included.
