Caring & Sharing Grant Provides Training for Summer Leadership

Camp Ondessonk Summer Camp leadership will attend Behavioral First Responder Certification courses led by Alpenglow Education thanks to a grant received from the Caring and Sharing Thrift Shop Wish List Program.

The funding makes it possible for nine members of the Summer Camp leadership to participate in this training to learn how to identify, address, and manage behavioral challenges of our campers. Once certified, these staff members will share the knowledge they gain with our Summer Camp staff. This training will help Camp Ondessonk prepare to care for the mind, body, and spirit of our campers.

Camp Ondessonk has been invited to apply for the Caring and Sharing Thrift Shop Wish List Program since 2016. Previous grants have provided medical supplies for Camp’s Health Center and a back country rescue kits.
