Camp Ondessonk- Lodge Update

Camp Ondessonk- Lodge Update

Lodge Updates- by Mitch Cunningham

Coming out of a fantastic summer, The Lodges of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha observed one of the largest Fall Lodge Reunions in recent years. Many campers, staff, volunteers, and friends of the Lodges spent their weekend reconnecting with their friends and sharing their love of Ondessonk. Fall Lodge Reunion allowed for nights of fun, days of hard work, and elections of new Lodge and Tribe Officials. With some fresh and some veteran Officials, The Lodges of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha were prepared to take on the upcoming off-season as well as take on challenges proposed to the Tribes from the Officials. This off-season, many Tribes have diligently worked in the name of Lodge to meet their goals. Many Tribes have provided a fun, camp-themed night for kids to raise money and awareness about Ondessonk while hosting Friday Fun Nights in their communities. Others have gone door to door trick-or-treating or caroling for Ondessonk. Some Tribes have gone so far as to raise money for a work weekend at Ondessonk. During this work weekend, members of multiple Tribes helped in the renovation of Saint Noel as well as raising money to persuade the Tribe Officials and myself to do a polar plunge in Lake St. Isaac (whew, it was cold)! Additionally, Lodge Tribes have been actively meeting to plan future work weekends, fundraisers, and events in their communities. Be sure that you are on the look-out for these events in your home town so that you can support The Lodges and Camp Ondessonk. All of the Tribes appreciate your support and would especially appreciate a greater active member base. Regardless of your history with Lodge or Camp Ondessonk, please consider reconnecting with your own Tribe through The Loyal Lodges of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha Facebook page or Camp Ondessonk’s website. As Lodge prepares for its 56th summer, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all of those who played their part and to challenge those who would like to make the next 56 summers even better!

See you at Spring Lodge Reunion, April 12-14
