Camp Friends Rally for the 5th Annual Camp O Day Giving Week

From June 22–28, Camp Ondessonk celebrated its 66th summer with the 5th Annual Camp O Day week of giving.

Camp Friends from near and far came together once again to share their gifts of time, talent, and treasure, to ensure Camp continues “teaching what matters most” for generations to come. This year’s celebration was nothing short of inspiring.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community:

  • $22,113 was contributed by 109 Camp Friends;
  • More than 255 items, totaling more than $6,421, were purchased from our Wishlist to benefit Camp’s activity areas; and
  • 58 Camp Friends pledged to volunteer their time in the coming year.

The week’s success was fueled by generous challenge gifts from longtime Camp supporters Steve and Mary Mahieu, Tom and Sue Lamczyk, Jacquie Jablonski, and Peggy Hausmann. Their leadership helped energize others to give and made a significant difference.

Held each year on June 28, Camp O Day marks the anniversary of the day the first campers arrived at Camp Ondessonk in 1959. Since then, thousands of children have passed through the Camp Gate to experience a week full of adventure, friendship, and growth. This celebration not only honors that history but also ensures that future generations will share in the same spirit.

We invite you to be part of documenting Camp’s vibrant history by sharing your Camp story today.

To everyone who participated—whether you made a gift, purchased an item, pledged your time, or helped spread the word—thank you. Your support strengthens our mission and ensures the Spirit of Ondessonk will continue to thrive for generations to come.
