Building the Campfire

Building the Campfire

By Whitney Strang

What do a staff member, an Alaskan, a Board member, and a summer camp volunteer all have in common? They all share a commitment to the long-term financial well-being of Camp Ondessonk through their membership in the Campfire Circle, Camp’s monthly giving society.

Monthly gifts don’t just pay day-to-day expenses, they create stability and help fund things like:

  • Spreading lime in the pastures for healthy pasture growth.
  • 140-yards of shoulder repair on camp’s main road, making it safer for traffic.
  • Repair of Camp’s main water pressure regulating valve.
  • Unbudgeted repairs to the road around the lake.

You will have the opportunity to see your support in action once you join the Campfire Circle!  Members receive a monthly communication from Executive Director Dan King highlighting what the collective gifts from the Campfire Circle helped fund at Camp each month.  And of course, you’re welcome to stay connected and engaged via social media on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
