A Night to Remember: Camp Ondessonk’s Gala Italiano Brings Generosity and Celebration
On March 1, 2025, Camp Friends from near and far gathered at The Regency in O’Fallon, Ill., for a spectacular evening at Gala Italiano, Camp Ondessonk’s largest fundraising event. This biennial celebration raises essential funds for program equipment and operational costs, ensuring future campers continue to experience the mission of Ondessonk at the highest quality.
Beth (Darr) Keserauskis guided the night as the master of ceremonies, while Jeff Foulks and his team, including Mike Alwood and Matt Foulks, kept the crowd engaged with their energetic auctioneering during the much-anticipated live auction and Cabin Fever, the Ondessonk-themed blind auction.
The Gala was also the perfect opportunity to honor those who have helped shape and sustain Camp Ondessonk with the presentation of The Lodge of Ondessonk & Tekakwitha awards. The Merit of St. René Goupil Award was presented to Curt Fest and Gregg Korte, both of whom have dedicated countless hours of service to Camp. The St. Jean de Brébeuf Award honored Ken Haas, Claire Hatch, and Tom Smugala for their significant contributions to the growth and success of Camp Ondessonk.
