Multi-Council Work Weekend Strengthens Camp Community

During the first weekend of Spring, March 20–22, Camp Ondessonk welcomed Lodge members from across the region for a multi-council work weekend that combined service, stewardship, and camaraderie.

A total of 28 Lodge members representing the Champaign, Chicago, Clinton County, Evansville, Gateway, Tri-State, and World-Wide Councils came together to help Camp prepare for the upcoming Outdoor Education season.

Throughout the weekend, volunteers made a meaningful impact. Crews helped prepare the trails for the upcoming 16^th Annual Trail Races, working to ensure participants could safely explore and experience the land that makes Camp so special. In addition to trail projects, volunteers also installed mattresses in the units for the spring guests, and eventually summer campers, to rest comfortably during their visits.

Beyond the tangible improvements, the weekend was a powerful reminder of the strength of the Camp Ondessonk Community. Lodge members from different Councils built new connections, shared stories, and strengthened the bonds that tie them to Camp and to one another.
