Fall Lodge Council Updates 2019
Check-out what the Lodge Councils of The Lodge of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha have been up to this Fall! Read below for our Fall Lodge Council updates.
This coming fall, our Council is already planning fun activities. We intend on handing out flyers for Trick-or-Treat for Change and on Halloween we will have the fundraiser. Council bonding and getting to work on a project this year will be big priorities for us, as well as joining in the annual work weekend. We are working on communication skills within the Council and hope that this will be a very productive year.
Evansville Lodge Council Update
Evansville Lodge Council had a relaxing summer break with many members making their annual pilgrimage for a week, or more, of Summer Camp. Meeting at Fall Reunion, we elected our officials for the next year: Walker Selby, Tristen Payne, Riley Richards, and Ava Pawlowski. Our plans for this year include doing some trash pickup, service meetings and some fun meetings. We are working to enhance our communication and reconnect with members who we might not be in contact with. We have some fundraisers in mind but no real concrete plans yet. Looking really far ahead, we are planning to run our March work weekend again. This would be the third year in the row and both years we have had about 45 people come. What is unique about it is that it is completely free for Lodge members to attend and it is a great opportunity for people to reconnect with each other before summer. We are excited for a great year!
Champaign Lodge Council Update
We plan to get more of our members involved in activities, and to raise money for the campership fund.
Springfield Area Lodge Council Update
We had a lot of Council bonding through a Friendsgiving potluck, a car at a trunk-or-treat, and a white elephant gift exchange. We had a good attendance year round with an average of 11 people present at each meeting and a good turnout to the Fall and Spring Lodge Reunions. We hosted a Saturday Spectacular, a fun afternoon with camp activities to spread camp to the elements kids in our area. We also sold camp blankets as a fundraiser. Together they raised $1,400 for camp! We plan to give back more to our community and to increase council bonding this year!
Clinton County Lodge Council Update
We haven’t been that active during the summer, but we plan to make up for that with many fundraising ideas, including a food drive, selling candy bars, and maybe partnering with other nearby Councils for a charity race of some kind. We have also discussed volunteering at local places like animal shelters, especially with the winter. We have an upcoming meeting in November around Thanksgiving, date and place TBD. We’re planning to be very active this fall and winter and are excited!
