Spring Lodge Council Updates 2020
Though we’re currently in unprecedented times and most have been sheltering-in-place for the past month, our Lodge Councils are looking forward and continuing to plan for summer. Check-out what the Lodge Councils of The Lodge of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha have been up to the last few months.
Evansville Lodge Council has had a slow 2020 so far. We did have a very successful work weekend in early March. Thirty volunteers came down and provided camp with over 200 work hours. We spread wood chips at Daniel, Lalande, and Goupil, filled the one ton eight times with leaves in an effort to clean up the main area, and did necessary trail maintenance and creation. Back in our own hometowns, we made cards that we sent to local nursing homes. We are now getting ready for the summer and hoping to return to a sense of normalcy soon!
Our council had a council bonding meeting to plan events for this spring back on January 20th, followed by blanket making service project for a local hospice center in February. We had a few council members attend a work weekend at camp in early March to help out and start getting camp ready for summer. Our meeting plan for March was to go hiking in Peoria, but due to COVID-19 complications, we canceled in an effort to keep everyone safe at home. We are all looking forward to getting back up and running soon (God willing) and we can’t wait to see everyone this summer!
We were in the middle of planning a fundraiser before the social distancing order took effect, so we haven’t been up to any fundraisers recently. However, we have many plans for the summer, including fun meetings, selling t-shirts, and group service projects
