The Puzzle of Programming in 2020
Programming during the summer and fall of 2020 added a new piece to the planning puzzle. The added piece was one that had not been experienced before, but the Ondessonk Staff rose to the challenge and found a way to implement low risk programming, meals, and lodging to all our guests, and even to a few school groups.
To implement programming during this time, Ondessonk Staff created systems that allowed for all your favorite activities to happen while practicing physical distancing. When physical distancing was not possible, both staff and participants were required to wear a mask. Groups were also scheduled for each activity with 10 minutes in-between each group. In these 10 minutes staff would clean and disinfect all hard surfaces.
For those guests who wished to stay overnight, the Ondessonk Staff made sure that the accommodations were above average standards. Starting in the lodging location, each unit was cleaned before and after each group to make sure mattresses and surfaces contained minimal-to-no diseases that could be spread between groups. Ondessonk Staff also instituted new cleaning measures that included a displayed cleaning list and bathroom cleanings twice a day when overnight guests were present.
If you are hungry after reading all this information, Camp Ondessonk has you covered. The Ondessonk Food Service team created a new system that allowed for your favorite meals to be delivered to your unit throughout the day to allow for physically distanced meals throughout a group’s stay.
All the new precautions that started in the summer and fall of 2020, will continue to ensure we are minimizing risks throughout the property.
