Camp Ondessonk Restoration and Improvement Projects

Camp Ondessonk staff and volunteers have been working hard on several restoration and improvement projects at Camp.  Camp Ranger, Mike Jennings, has been leading these efforts not only to improve the aesthetics but also the overall safety.

Cooks Cottage Restoration and improvement projectsCooks’ Cottage is currently undergoing a renovation, including new flooring, a fresh coat of paint, and an upgrade to some appliances.  The Cottage normally serves as housing for female outdoor education staff and Summer female senior staff members.  “It is important to ensure our staff has updated housing, it keeps morale high, and it is a good reminder to serve the people who help Camp be its best.”, states Mike Jennings, Camp Ranger.

Tree trimming and tree removal have begun along trails, cabins, and nearTree Trimming Restoration and Improvement Projects programming areas.  “This is a preemptive strategy to ensure the safety of our campers, guests, and staff,” stated Mike Jennings.  Jennings is working with Eric Ulner, owner of Rope Science Tree Service, one of the leading experts in the field to complete this project.
