Our Mission

The Mission of Camp Ondessonk is to provide an environment that inspires physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth for individuals and groups through the appreciation and stewardship of nature.

Our Vision

The Vision of Camp Ondessonk, a camp founded on the Catholic Faith, is to be the world’s best youth camp. Inspired by positive role models, campers will experience the wonders of God’s creation through adventurous, challenging activities in a unique, rustic environment.

Leader in Training Application (16 years of age only)

altCamp Ondessonk is looking for positive role models for our Summer Staff. Yes, this is a real job! It's a job where you make decisions that impact and change lives. This job challenges you to turn adversity (like 24 hours of rain) into the best part of being at Camp. It's a job that lets you be a hero and friend. This is a job that can have a positive impact on you, not just for the summer but for the rest of your life.

This truly is an awesome job, but it carries a lot of responsibility as well. There are high expectations. You have to be willing to give, help children grow, and inspire them to reach for the stars and beyond. You have to be a diplomat and friend at the same time and make homesick faces turn into smiles.alt

Most staff members live in units, just like the campers. Most of these units are three-sided tree houses. While our program is somewhat rugged and rustic, it gives campers the opportunity to explore the outdoors and gain in understanding and respect for the wonders and beauty of the world around them.

Since 1959 Ondessonk staff members have been positive role models who help campers grow both spiritually and emotionally. They are what make a great camping experience for the campers. It's an experience that boosts self-esteem, strengthens social skills, develops self-confidence, makes lasting memories, is great fun, provides new challenges, and strengthens values. To be a part of the Summer Staff, you must be at least 16 years old.
